Students from St. Angela’s School scooped the top prize at the Regional Finals of the Cork Schools Enterprise Programme Competition, which took place in CIT as part of their annual Innovation Day on 8th March.
The winning team, Mini Marketeers, produced special student ID cards that enable students to avail of discounts in retail outlets throughout Cork City and County. Mini Marketeers will now go on to represent Cork City Enterprise Board at the National Student Enterprise Awards competition next month which takes place in Croke Park. Other prizes awarded on the day include: • Best display stand: Cozy Cups, St. Vincent’s Secondary School • Best innovation: Mini-Marketeers, St. Angela’s School • Best Marketing: Party Eyes, St. Vincent’s Secondary School • Best Business Report: Knit Knacks, Regina Mundi College 17 student enterprises, representing 11 schools from Cork City and South Cork in total took part in the event which is designed to give students who are running their own student businesses a taste of what it’s really like to be entrepreneurs. At the event, students set up exhibition stands in the Nexus Student Centre in CIT and also made a formal business presentation. The competition was judged by a panel of judges comprising of local business people. |
